Basics of scientific writing in English: A structured method for organizing and writing better, faster papers

August 25, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm CEST

Event Series Event Series (See All)

This 2-day course, comprising Zoom lectures interspersed with exercises, is designed for students who will need to write scientific papers in English, but who are not yet ready to produce a specific paper. The six modules of this course introduce students to all the methods and tools required to write a research paper in English. The course will help students painlessly integrate writing into their scientific processes, so papers are already close to completion by the time the final analysis of data is complete. The only prerequisite is a B2 or higher level of English and interest in writing scientific papers in English. Designed especially for public health and health sciences/medical researchers.

Participants will learn to:

Write while they do their research, to more efficiently produce papers.

Use reporting guidelines (qualitative or quantitative) to produce high-quality papers.

Outline efficiently in English. Write proper English paragraphs, without wasted effort.

Write compelling and well-organized Introductions and Discussions.

Create effective figures and tables

Manage co-authors to ensure that the collaboration process runs smoothly and on time.
